GLPI Summary

  • Software is an open source product
  • Software is written in PHP, HTML, JavaScript
  • The system can be deployed both on open source operating systems such as Linux & BSD, and on proprietary operating system such as Windows
  • According to the extent of use the system can be deployed as on a single virtual or physical machine with single-core 2 GHz processor and 1 GB RAM and on several servers (on a separate MySQL server)
  • For Web-based applications the environment of Apache web server is used
  • For data storage the MySQL database server is used
  • Users are working in standard browsers such as Firefox, Opera, Internet Explorer, etc. (via the Web, HTML)
  • The system has a built-in authentication mechanisms with the ability to integrate with LDAP and Microsoft Active Directory, and also the automated mechanism of events notification

The system also allows:

  • managing the assets with a division within certain organizations (departments)
  • distinguishing between user permissions (view, edit, create , etc.) within the different asset types and organizations on the basis of profiles
  • exporting the data in an XML format, CSV, SLK, PDF
  • importing data from CSV files
  • expanding functionality through additional modules - plug-ins etc.
